Amy Schumer Talks Plus-Size Glamour Beef on Fallon

Amy Schumer stopped by The Tonight Show Tuesday todiscuss the upcoming season of Inside Amy Schumer and her social media dust-up with Glamour magazine, who labeled the Trainwreck star plus-sized in a recent issue.

For those of you who dont know who I am, I am a famous plus-size model, Schumer joked. What I learned is that people dont really like being classified as plus-size; we dont need these labels. It should just say what size you are. Why? Why?

In a special edition of Glamour created in association with retailer Lane Bryant, Schumer was listed alongside Adele, Melissa McCarthy and model Ashley Graham as women who inspire us because of their dress size. Schumer had previously appeared on an August 2015 cover of Glamour, two months after she made an unapologetic speechat the magazines award show.

I think theres nothing wrong with being plus size. Beautiful healthy women, Schumer wrote on Instagramalongside a photo of the cover. Plus size is considered size 16 in America. I go between a size 6 and an 8. [Glamour] put me in their plus size only issue without asking or letting me know and it doesnt feel right to me. Young girls seeing my body type thinking that is plus size? What are your thoughts? Mine are: Not cool, Glamour; not glamourous.

In an interview with Nightline, Glamour editor-in-chief Cindi Leive responded to the controversy. Im certainly sorry she didnt like being named on the cover, and Im sorry that she wishes her piece hadnt been included, but Im confident that the message of the issue, which is theres great clothes out there for all of us, is one that will resonate with our readers, Leive said. I dont believe that Amy Schumer is plus size. Thats not a term that I love, but its very clear that shes not what people mean when they say plus size. But that wasnt the intent at all. The cover line says Women who inspire us and we felt the audience for this special edition would be inspired by her completely hilarious and constant, consistent message of body positivity.

With Inside Amy Schumer returning to Comedy Central on April 21st, Schumer also played a game of Explain This Picture with Jimmy Fallon:
