Stephen Colbert Relishes Trumps Laughingstock Moment During UN Speech

Stephen Colbert relished the moment the leaders of the world united to openly laugh at President Trump on Tuesdays Late Show. Colbert first noted that Trump showed up late to the UN assembly; the president was scheduled to speak second, but Ecuadors president went to the podium in place of the tardy Commander-in-Chief.

Once we actually made it to the U.N., he jumped right into his favorite talking: Himself, Colbert said before a clip of Trumps laugh-inducing boast, In less than two years my administration has accomplished more than almost any administration in the history of our country Dont worry Mr. President, theyre not laughing at you theyre laughing with each other at you.

Colbert later tackled some of the more divisive moments of Trumps speech. After explaining to the countries of the world that America would leave them alone, he started picking on them, Colbert said. Hes working the room like an insult comic.

Also at the assembly, Trump stated to the UN that we reject the ideology of globalism and we embrace the doctrine of patriotism So Trump appeared before the United Nations to reject the premise of nations uniting, Colbert said.

Even Jimmy Fallon teased Trump over his tardiness and laughingstock moment on the Tonight Show. Trump spoke at the UN and halfway through his speech every foreign leader there was begging to be deported After Trump started his speech by bragging about how well hes done as president, the crowd started laughing at him, Fallon said.

Trump hasnt heard that much laughter since his night with Stormy Daniels.
