Bachelor in Paradise Production Suspended Over Reports of Misconduct on Set

Just one week into filming, production for Season 4 of Bachelor in Paradise has been suspended indefinitely due to some unspecified misconduct, Warner Bros. confirmed in a statement Sunday.

We have become aware of allegations of misconduct on the set of Bachelor in Paradise in Mexico, the statement reads. We have suspended production and we are conducting a thorough investigation of these allegations. Once the investigation is complete, we will take appropriate responsive action.

The summer series was filming in Sayulita, Mexico, and was slated to premiere August 8th.

The popularBachelor in Paradisetypically features the most popular contestants fromthe Bachelor and Bachelorette. As announced earlier this month, among those participating this season are Corinne Olympios, Alexis Waters and Raven Gates from Nick Vialls most recent season, Robby Hayes from JoJo Fletchers season, and DeMario Jackson from Rachel Lindsays current season of The Bachelorette.

The spinoff, which premiered in August 2014, involves housing all the contestants under one roof as they vie for one anothers affections. Unlike The Bacheloror The Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradisegives all of the men and women equal opportunities to give one another roses, with alliances and divides forming as contestants are eliminated each week.

Though several names have been thrown about in connection with the alleged misconduct, there has yet to be a confirmed account of what exactly happened on set, and who is involved.

According to several media reports, the issue stems from two contestants getting extremely inebriated and having explicitly sexual relations in the pool while cameras were rolling.

Reality Steve, a blogger who is known for his Bachelor spoilers and insider information, shared a photo of many of the shows cast at the airport in Puerto Vallarta recently, noting that the cast had only been told that they were being flown to Houston. Jackson and Olympios are absent from the group photo.

The Bachelorfranchise has dealt with controversy in the past. In 2010, contestant Rozlyn Papa was booted from the show after having a physical relationship with one of the shows producers. In 2014, former Bachelorstar Juan Pablo landed in hot water after making homophobic comments about a possible gay Bachelor. And most recently, Lee Garrett, a contestant on the current season of The Bachelorette, was accused of being racist and sexist after several of his past tweets were resurfaced.
